Rotary District 9570
Jean and I welcome you to this website and to our Rotary District - 9570.
This is a geographically large district by any standards, covering an area of 600,000 square kilometers bisected by the Tropic of Capricorn. The Great Barrier Reef boarders our coast and natural features include tropical rainforests, eucalyptus woodlands and dry grasslands. The population of the District is approxmately 500,000 comprising 8% of Queenslands 4 million residents.
The District covers industries such as mining, beef cattle, sugar cane, tourisim, and heavy industry. Queenslanders are known for their hard work, and their egaliterianism. Rotary in this District is exactly that - hard workers, casual meetings and lots of fun.
This website is a useful resource tool for the general membership, officer holders and visiting Rotarians. It is also a useful site for those who want to know more about Rotary and what we do. I look forward to serving you in the years 2011-2012.
